Welcome to the 4-H Ontario Virtual Provincial Judging Competition! A fun and interactive way to keep those critical thinking skills polished.
The objectives of the competition is to:
- To provide an opportunity for youth, enrolled as a member in good standing with 4-H Ontario, in 2021, to participate in a provincial virtual judging competition.
- To foster the future development of young judges for the agricultural industry in Canada.
- To provide a high-profile and competitive judging experience. Hosted by 4-H Ontario, the provincial judging competition is open to all 2021 4-H Ontario members, in good standing.
The judging competition includes 4 livestock classes, 4 non-livestock classes and a general knowledge quiz.
No oral reasons are required.

Officials
The official placings for the classes have been provided by experienced and knowledgeable judges in each class.
Eligibility
The provincial judging competition is open to all 2021 4-H Ontario members, in good standing and who have registered for the competition through the 4-H Ontario website. Competitors must be 6 – 21 years of age as of December 31st, 2020.
Prizes
Prizes will given out to the top three competitors in each of the 4 age categories. (the ages are as of December 31, 2020)
Competitors must be 6 – 21 years of age as of December 31st, 2020. The following are the categories:
Cloverbud: 6 to 8 years of age
Junior: 9 to 12 years of age
Intermediate: 13 to 15 years of age
Senior: 16 to 21 years of age

Instructions
Visit, review and judge all 8 classes and complete the general knowledge quiz.
In order to be eligible to receive any prizes, the 4-H member must judge all eight classes and complete the general knowledge quiz.
Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions 4-H Ontario was not able to video livestock from Ontario for the purposes of this competition. Therefore, videos have been sourced from our competition host, which is in the U.S. where animal husbandry practices and showmanship attire may have different standards than that in Ontario/Canada.
